After a good sleep we ventured out into Famagusta today.....we stopped at Salamis ruins to take in some history and managed to take some pictures in the amphitheatre! Inside the city walls we had a very relaxing lunch and made it back to the hotel for some much needed fun in the pool 😎
Sunday 21st May 2017
Once again we woke up to beautiful sunshine! After breakfast we made our way to the infamous 'Blue Shato' the home of a notorious gun smuggler and gangster. At the end of our guided tour students were treated to a much needed ice cream to cool down. We travelled a little further afield and had lunch in a beautiful barn with an outside play area that we all made the most of! Our day finished with a leisurely paddle in the pool. Welcome to day four in sunny Cyprus. Our day started with a visit to Genc TV, where students made their first formal appearance on a news programme. Here they shared with the viewers all the exciting things we had done since we arrived. We then travelled on to see the Education Minister Ozdemir Berova who has worked hard to support this amazing trip. After a quick lunch we headed into Kyrenia ......using the hotel train......to get the last of the sunshine 😎

Hey! Today marked our first visit to school. We were welcomed with open arms to The Near East College in Nicosia. Students had the opportunity to visit the on site veterinary surgery and car museum......which was very impressive! After a quick bite to eat we wandered around Nicosia getting some shopping done and making the most of the setting sun, before heading back to the hotel for karaoke night 😎🎤
Wednesday 24th May 2017
Early start this morning as we headed straight to The American Future College in Girne. This year we visited a different site which educates primary and secondary students up to Year 8. Students were treated to some exciting Science experiments before quickly getting changed and heading out to the basketball court for some fun! After a bite to eat we made our way to the Kibris Media offices where we were introduced to the 'Kibris' newspaper and 'Cyprus News' teams. We met the editor and journalists who make this paper each week. There will be an article about our visit so keep your eyes posted for it 😎
Thursday 25th May 2017
Today is our last full day, so of course we filled it to the brim! We started by heading high up into the mountains to visit the stunning St Hilarion Castle. It wasn't an easy climb but we were all determined to make it so that we could see the castle that inspired Walt Disney to make Snow White. We swiftly moved on to the BRT studios for our recording of 'A Cup of Conversation', here we were able to share what we had been doing since we arrived. The day ended with a last bit of souvenir shopping in Nicosia 😎

Hey, this will be our last post from sunny Cyprus. We have had a brilliant morning basking in the warm Cypriot sunshine and splashing in the pool. We are all packed up now and waiting for the coach to take us to the airport. We have had a wonderful time! Our plane is due to take off on time, so we all look forward to seeing you at school at 12.30am on Saturday. 😎
