PE Tuition Fee
We have 19 secondary schools in the partnership at which student teachers might be placed. After reading your application The Hub for Sport and Physical Education @ Kingston University will forward your application to the appropriate school, taking into account, for example, your place of residence.
2. Applicants to primary teaching
Within our 7 general primary training programmes, two could be at our nursery schools. It will benefit you to make it clear which of the primary schools you are applying to, and whether you wish to be considered for a place at one of the nursery schools. If you do wish to apply to one of our nursery schools, you will be placed in FS/KS1 (foundation stage and key stage 1). Please note that this is not an Early Years Training Programme.
3. Overseas applicants
If you have overseas equivalent qualifications, it is very important that you check that your qualifications are accepted by the university. NARIC is one way of checking whether your qualifications are accepted in the UK but not all universities accept NARIC (https://www.naric.org.uk/naric/). The university makes the final judgement on equivalency.
Please be aware that an English exam taken overseas as a foreign language exam is not the same as an English GCSE taken in England. You may be required to take an Equivalency test or an IELTS. Please see the DfE website for more information:
4. Selection process
Each partner school has their own selection schedule and process. Applicants will be advised accordingly by the appropriate school.
Gladesmore Community School selection process
After careful perusal of application forms, we will invite successful applicants to attend for skill level interviews, including a numeracy test and a formal writing test. Should this section of the interview process go well, then applicants will be invited to spend a further day working in the classroom alongside experienced teachers, as well as have a short interview with the Head teacher. Those applicants who are successful at this stage will be invited to formal interviews, when we hold formal selection panel interviews and provide applicants with the opportunity to teach a lesson in their subject.
