I am writing to update you on the situation following the heavy rainfall earlier this month which caused severe flooding in parts of the school site. This led to extensive damage to ceilings, lighting, and to the electrical power supply to parts of the Main building.

This has required the electric supply to several blocks to be turned off whilst the electrical contractors check, repair and restore service. Remedial works are likely to take several more days to ensure power can be restored as quickly and safely as possible. We have been advised that during the time that this remedial work is taking place, staff and students should not be on site.Unfortunately, we estimate a week’s delay to the start of school for students.

The revised return to school dates are as follows:

● Year 7 – Friday 9th September @ 8:40am (Crowland Road Entrance)
● Year 8 – Monday 12th September @ 8:40am (Gladesmore Road Entrance)
● Year 9 – Monday 12th September @ 8:40am (Crowland Road Entrance)
● Year 10 – Monday 12th September @ 8:40am (Gladesmore Road Entrance)
● Year 11 – Friday 9th September @ 9:00am (Crowland Road Entrance)

To ensure students have access to work and can prepare for the start of term, we recommend the following:

Year 7: (student login not required)

➢ Complete Summer Holiday Challenge
➢ Complete English, Maths & Science tasks

Years 8 to 11:

➢ Access: Unit information (resources + podcasts)

➢ Select: Continue with Google
➢ Select an add courses, then select a topic

For families eligible for Free School Meals, a midday meal is available for collection each day. Please use the
link below to register. A food pack can be collected from the Gladesmore Road entrance each day between
12.00pm and 1.00pm.
