Gladesmore Community School

About us

Welcome to the Gladesmore Community School website.  I am very proud and privileged to be the headteacher of a school that serves such a vibrant and diverse community.

Gladesmore is a popular oversubscribed mixed 11-16 comprehensive school in Tottenham, Haringey. The school has over 1270 pupils on roll, with a wide range of ethnic, linguistic and religious backgrounds creating a tremendously rich culture.

Our exceptional school culture and consistently excellent results have led to Gladesmore being judged ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in three successive inspections.

As a proud community comprehensive school, we welcome all pupils and pride ourselves on ensuring that they all make fantastic progress in their time with us. Our broad and balanced curriculum is focused on academic excellence whilst also providing an exceptional range of opportunities for pupils to discover and develop their own individual talents.  Pupil achievement is consistently strong in every subject.

Our positive school ethos is central to our success. Our ethos is encapsulated in the REACH values: Respect, Enthusiasm, Aspiration, Cooperation and Hard Work.  Pupils are happy and have a sense of belonging in our friendly, family atmosphere where they value each other as individuals and celebrate each other’s achievements.

Crucial to our success is developing pupils' confidence and ambition.  Our school motto is: Dream it, REACH for it, Achieve it.  Everyone is therefore encouraged to have high aspirations and work hard so they can achieve their ambitions.  Pupils thrive in our positive culture where everyone is inspired and supported to do their best.

Pupils are guided and supported by an excellent team of committed staff who work collaboratively with parents/carers.  We also have a talented team of governors who bring a wealth of experience to supporting the school’s development.  We are outward-facing: over many years we have developed strong partnerships with local, national and international agencies, businesses and community groups so that our pupils benefit from and contribute to the wider world.
