Designated Safeguarding Lead's statement
Gladesmore Community School fully recognises its responsibility to have a clear and secure
framework in place to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and expect all staff and
volunteers to share this commitment.
In addition the staff are trained in safeguarding procedures annually to a level relative to their
responsibilities. They are required to report any concerns to the school safeguarding team.
The school will therefore:
- Establish and maintain an environment where children feel secure, encouraged to talk and
- listened to
- Ensure that children and parents know that there are adults in the school who they can
- approach if they are worried
- Include opportunities in the PSHE (personal, social, health and economic curriculum for children to develop the skills they need to recognise and stay safe from abuse
