Support For Individuals

Here at Gladesmore we are aware that from time to time students may need emotional support.

There are a range of difficulties that students face that can have a negative impact on their mental health.  This can manifest itself in the student becoming withdrawn and they may present with persistent low moods that hinder them from carrying out day-to-day tasks.

In some cases, students may have problems eating or sleeping and lose interest in activities that they used to enjoy. In order to alleviate and prevent further emotional decline we have in place a team of qualified professionals who are able to support the students through the medium of mentoring, counselling and mental health practitioners.

The school nurse also works on-site every Thursday and is available to advise accordingly.

Students are referred for emotional support using our in-house method and provision is allocated accordingly. If difficulties are at the stage where the work of outside agencies is necessary the school will make the relevant referrals with parental permission and involvement.

We are aware that early intervention can reduce the need for further support at a later stage.

If you are concerned about the emotional well-being of your child, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the Safeguarding team.
