On September 14th 2022, pupils from the School Council accompanied the head teacher Mr Ojokor, as well as one of our early career teachers Mr Cockburn, on a visit to the Institute of Education.

The presentation, which Gladesmore is invited to every year, is for the benefit of student teachers who are just starting out on their teacher training. Mr Ojokor began by introducing the Gladesmore ethos and sharing insights into the values that have helped to shape the success of the school and the opportunities it has created for young people in Tottenham.

Following this, Mr Cockburn shared some of his own personal experiences as an early career teacher along with some useful advice for the student teachers who will be following in his footsteps very soon. At last the pupils themselves took centre stage, and spoke eloquently and insightfully on what makes an outstanding and inspiring teacher from their point of view.

The contribution that Gladesmore makes is always extremely well received and the student teachers consistently rate the presentation as one of the highlights of their whole lecture course.
