Gladesmore Community School is enthusiastic about technology. We recognise the benefits of digital tools to increase engagement, accelerate progress and improve communication. The school uses a wide range of digital tools and pupils can access all of these at student.gladesmore.com. There are also video guides to support pupils' use of these tools.
However, there are a few apps which are central to every aspect of school life. All parents / carers need to be familiar with the following apps in order to support learning in school. We have included digital guides to these apps below.
SIMS App (Parent/Carer and Pupil Apps)
The SIMS Parent App allows the school to easily communicate with parents. Whether it’s sharing information such as attendance, or school reports, or sending reminders for homework tasks, all of the information is easily accessible from the convenience of their phone, tablet or PC.
To access parent version online on your PC or laptop, click on the link below:
If you are new to the SIMS Parent App, here is a quick overview of the functionalities and options you can access from the app.
Access to the SIMS Parent App requires an activation via an email request. These are normally sent out at the start of the academic year in September. If you have not received a SIMS Parent App invitation email or have any queries relating to the app, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
We also have a SIMS Student App for pupils and work in a similar why to the parent app. To access the student version online via a computer visit the link below:
Google Classroom (Pupils Only)
Google Classroom is widely used across all faculty areas in school to provide an online learning platform for pupils both in and out of school.
If you are a student and wish to access the website for Google Classroom then please click on the link below and log in using your Gladesmore student email account.
GCSEPod is an award-winning online revision platform designed to support KS3 and KS4 pupils, teachers and parents to prepare for qualification examinations.
Pupils have access to a library of over 6,000 ‘Pods,’ which are 3-5-minute videos designed to deliver knowledge in short bursts, making learning and revision much more manageable.
There are Pods for every subject, and every Pod is mapped to an exam board and contains all the right facts, quotes, keywords, dates and annotated diagrams that pupils need for GCSE success — all neatly organised into topics and exam playlists. Pupils can also stream or download any Pod to their mobile device to watch at any time, any place, with or without an Internet connection.
