Y7 - What to expect

COVID19: The pandemic has disrupted all of our plans and unfortunately we don’t yet know exactly what Year 7 will look like for September 2020.  Please rest assured that we will contact you as soon as we can to offer updates. Nonetheless, these pages will give you a feel for our school, our systems and our expectations

The transition to Year 7 is challenging for almost everyone.  We have tried to put together some pages to explain how Year 7 works – please click on the links.  However, rather than teachers talking, we thought we’d ask Year 7 what they would like you to know:

“DON’T STRESS – it’s not as scary as you think it’s going to be!”

“The teachers are all really nice and friendly”.

“I was really scared but my smiley tutor made me feel safe from Day 1!”

“On my first day, I thought I’d never find my way around.  By the end of the week, I was helping other students.”

“I was the only person who came from my primary school to Gladesmore.  It was scary at first but I soon made friends in my tutor class.”

“For me, one of the best things was Stepping Stones in the mornings.  I came in early, ate loads of free croissants and chatted to the Year 10 students.”

“To begin with I found it confusing having so many subjects and so many teachers but you soon get used to it.”
