Gladesmore Community School

Meet the SEND Team (WIP)

The SEND team consists of the following members of staff:

I have worked at Gladesmore Community School since 2008. Prior to working at Gladesmore, I worked in a variety of settings including alternative provision and as an English/Literacy teacher.

I am passionate about helping all young people to achieve their potential and I recognise that sometimes young people need additional help.

As the SENCO I work with pupils, parents/carers and external agencies to achieve the best outcomes for young people. If you have any concerns or questions please get in touch.

Emma Davies
SENCO

Cathy Cameron
Specialist SEND Teacher

I have worked at Gladesmore Community School for more than 20 years and my specialism has been Key Stage 4 pathways. I am committed to making sure that students are successful with us and that they transition to Key Stage 5 smoothly and successfully.

I work with parents and carers to ensure that pupils are studying a package of qualifications at Key Stage 4 which will act as a pathway for them. As part of this role I also organise work experience placements for a small number of pupils and teach specialist qualifications.

An important part of my role is assessing pupils for Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments. This means that I must work with teaching staff, support staff and exams office personnel to ensure that approved access arrangements are put in place for internal school tests, mock examinations and examinations.

If you are the parent of a SEND pupil and have questions about their transition into Key Stage 4 / Key Stage 5 OR you think that your child may need access arrangements, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

I am a proud ex-Gladesmore student. I graduated in xxix with excellent qualifications and went on to University. When I graduated I was looking for voluntary work experience and came back to Gladesmore to work with the SEND team. I so enjoyed my work experience that I never left!

In my role as Lead Teaching Assistant I help to make sure that our SEND students receive the support they need and that all the teaching assistants work effectively.

Please get in touch if you have any questions about the Keyworker system or wish to know which Keyworker has been allocated to your child.

Zeynep Senses

Laura Osborne
Lead Teaching Assistant (Intervention/Therapy Lead)

I've worked at Gladesmore since xxix as a teaching assistant. In my role as Lead TA, I am responsible for the intervention process for our EHCP pupils. I also lead and teach the ELSA program which supports the emotional needs of pupils.

Please get in touch if you have any questions about your child's Annual Review or if you wish to know more about ELSA.

Please note that I only work part time so you may not receive an immediate reply.
