In GCSE Media Studies, we rely heavily on and embrace an active engagement with both its content and new technologies. Our long-standing collaboration with The Guardian provides opportunities for our students to take part in an annual workshop that guides them through creating and editing their own newspaper front page. The experience of being in The Guardian offices not only permits students to engage actively in the media production process, itself, but also to enhance their understanding of the power of the media.

Additionally, we offer a Film Club that encourages its participants to explore a range of genres, discuss their responses and enrich their cultural capital. Streaming platforms and easy access to a range of cinematic experiences can sometimes make us feel overwhelmed by choice, therefore, for our club's viewings, we consciously select films that offer a mixture of classic, modern and international cinema.
