Trailblazer — deep:black
Gladesmore Community School is proud to be part of the Trailblazer initiative. There are many aspects to our work with Trailblazer, however, our partnership with deep;black has been very productive.
Support for transition
Since 2020, deep:black have been working with students in Year 7 on their emotional literacy. The deep:black team deliver workshops to Year 7 during PSHE focusing on their self-knowledge and strategies to cope with change.
Photographing Feelings: Isolation
The online photography project Photographing Feeling: Isolation is part of deep:black’s work with Gladesmore Community School to support children with their emotional wellbeing. To find out more about deep:black, please click on this link: https://deepblack.org.uk/
The project was conceived during lockdown and offered a creative way for pupils to engage with the challenges and opportunities presented by lockdown. Three other Haringey schools also participated in the project.
The project was a 6-week project in which pupils were asked to complete various photography challenges and to share these photographs with Gladesmore teachers and with the deep:black team.
The work culminated in a bus stop exhibition in Haringey.
